Those in the public school reform movement have some important things to learn from what Waldorf educators have been doing for many years. It's an enormously impressive effort toward quality education, and schools would be well advised to familiarize themselves with the basic assumptions that underlie the Waldorf movement.
Administration and Faculty
The Clover Hill School is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. It is a
self-administered private school. The School's faculty is responsible for the
decision making in regard to the curriculum and teaching methods. The faculty also
has full authority over its own members for purposes of hiring, mentorship and
evaluation. The Board of Trustees, comprised of teachers, parents and community
leaders, decides on governance issues especially those relating to school finances
and legal issues. While the School is administered independently, it maintains affiliation within the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN). The Clover Hill School is recognized as a "developing school" and will work with the Association to fulfill the requirements necessary to become fully accredited by WECAN. In addition, the Kindergarten is fully licensed as a Child Day Care Center by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Faculty
